New Delhi . The winter session of Parliament continues. Discussion on election reforms has started in Rajya Sabha on Thursday. During this, a heated debate can be seen between the party and the opposition. Ajay Maken, Digvijay Singh and Randeep Singh Surjewala will speak on behalf of Congress in the discussion in Rajya Sabha on electoral reforms. During this time, opposition MPs can loudly raise the issue of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the voter list. Sudhanshu Trivedi, Ujjwal Nikam, Harsh Shringla and Kavita Patidar will speak on this issue in Rajya Sabha. All these MPs will answer the opposition’s questions.
Earlier on Wednesday, election reforms were discussed in the Lok Sabha. During this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had answered the questions of the opposition. Amit Shah’s speech was also praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Amit Shah had targeted Congress and accused it of misleading the people of the country on the issue of SIR. He had said that there was a two-day deadlock in the beginning of the session to discuss this topic. This kind of misunderstanding and misconception was created among the public that we do not want to discuss, but we people of BJP and NDA never run away from discussion, but the discussion should be according to the rules of Parliament.
Amit Shah said that the opposition is adamant on discussing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, whereas SIR cannot be discussed in this House as this process belongs to the Election Commission. He said that the Election Commission and the Election Commissioner do not work under the government, so if the SIR is discussed in the House, then who will answer the questions related to it?
He said that the discussion was fixed for electoral reforms, but most of the opposition members discussed only SIR. On this SIR, lies were spread one-sidedly for four months and an attempt was made to mislead the people of the country.
The winter session of Parliament will continue till December 19. During this period, heated debates can be seen between the opposition and the opposition on many issues.
