Doha, June 20 (). India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra failed to make it to the top-3 in the Doha Diamond League played at Suhain Bin Hamad Stadium. Neeraj Chopra stood fourth. Neeraj had thrown his best throw (85.69) in the third attempt. The good thing for Neeraj is that he has qualified for the Commonwealth Games. Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Pathirage stood first with a throw of 88.68 metres.
This was the first Diamond League event of the season for Neeraj Chopra, who was returning from injury. His beginning was very disappointing. His first throw was a foul. Neeraj Chopra made a throw of 82.77 meters in the second attempt. With this throw his place in the Commonwealth Games was confirmed. To secure a place in the Commonwealth, only a throw of 82.61 meters was required.
