Lalsot. A 50-year-old e-rickshaw driver died in a road accident that occurred near a private hospital on Kothoon Road at the subdivision headquarters on Friday. The accident occurred when the jeep hit the e-rickshaw from behind, due to which the rickshaw overturned and the driver got buried under it.
As soon as information about the incident was received, a huge crowd of people gathered at the spot. On information, Assistant Police Inspector Ramphool May Japta reached the spot and took the injured driver in an unconscious state to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The deceased has been identified as Shivkumar Yogi (50), resident of Lakhanpur. Family members told that Shivkumar had bought a new e-rickshaw on the day of Dhanteras, but the very next day an accident took away his life.
Police have conducted post-mortem of the body and handed it over to the family members and legal action has been initiated against the unknown jeep driver.
