Jangipur, 26 September (). A large gang making fake Aadhaar card has been exposed in Shamsherganj police station area of Jangipur police district of West Bengal. Police arrested 26 -year -old youth Aslam Sheikh red -handed during a raid.
This action was taken in a shop near Canara Bank in Joy Krishnapur area, where fake documents were being prepared.
According to police sources, the Shamsherganj police station had received secret information that Aadhaar card and other documents were being made illegally in a shop in Joy Krishnapur. On the basis of information, the police conducted quick action and raided and detained Aslam Sheikh.
The printer machines used to make fake documents, rubber stamps of several government agencies and fake certificates related to various panchayats were recovered from the shop. These include fake documents of panchayat heads and members.
Jangipur Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Saw said, “We were informed that the work of making fake Aadhaar card is going on in Jaikrishnapur in Shamsherganj. Our team immediately took action and arrested a young man from the spot. Several objectionable goods and documents have been recovered from the shop.”
He said that the role of other suspects in this case is being investigated.
The arrested accused Aslam Sheikh was produced in the Jangipur Magistrate Court on Friday. The police have demanded a seven -day custody from the court to investigate the matter deeply.
The police is trying to find out who else can be involved in this racket and how long this gang was active.
The incident has stirred up the local administration and the public. Fake Aadhaar cards and documents can be used for various illegal activities such as fraud and identity theft.
The police have appealed to the people to immediately inform the administration about any suspicious activity.
The Jangipur police is strictly taking place in the matter and is committed to ensure that such illegal work is completely banned. Further action will be taken based on the results of the investigation.
