Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi, while addressing the gathering, accused BJP and RSS of working against the interests of the country and attacking the Constitution. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi gave controversial statements regarding the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and RSS. After this statement of Rahul Gandhi the political debate intensified. Congress defended its leader and said that Rahul Gandhi has said what the people of the country are feeling.
During the press conference in New Delhi, Congress leader Pawan Kheda said that there is an atmosphere of anxiety and resentment in every section of the country. There is restlessness among people of every section of the country. Especially among those who voted for this government, there is a feeling of being cheated. There is disappointment, sadness and anger among the people. As a responsible opposition, it is our duty to give voice to that anger. What Rahul Gandhi said is less than what we hear on the streets.
Pawan Kheda claimed that the public’s anger is more intense than the words of Rahul Gandhi.
He said, “If you ask people on the street about the government and listen to them without editing anything, you will realize that the truth is much more bitter than Rahul Gandhi’s statement. And a king should have the capacity to hear bitter things.”
However, Congress’s ally Samajwadi Party distanced itself from Rahul Gandhi’s statement. Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad told , “This is their ideology. We cannot use this kind of language.”
