Lucknow. With the aim of making Uttar Pradesh the ‘Manufacturing Hub of India’ as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will leave on Sunday on a four-day official visit to Singapore and Japan. This is the Chief Minister’s first foreign visit after his visit to Myanmar in 2017, which is considered important in terms of investment diplomacy and industrial expansion of the state. According to the information given by the government, the Chief Minister will meet representatives of 33 global companies during his stay in Singapore on 23-24 February and Japan on 25-26 February. In these meetings, new opportunities for investment, technical cooperation and industrial expansion in Uttar Pradesh will be discussed. During his stay in Singapore, the Chief Minister will meet representatives of 25 companies. There will be discussions on data center infrastructure with investors like Google and STT Global, agribusiness with Zapfa Group and Olam International, logistics networks with Mapletree and AI Sats, and clean and solar energy investments with AVPN, GSC Greens and EDPR Sunseep.
Possibilities of collaboration will be explored in hospitality and theme parks with Greenfield Ventures and DreamTrust, packaging with Universal Success Group, industrial parks with Sembcorp and aviation with Singapore Airlines Engineering Company. Capital infusion with global investment funds such as Temasek, GIC and Blackstone, while fintech and startup collaborations with Fullerton Financial, DBS Bank and Vertex Ventures will also be discussed.
During his stay in Japan, the Chief Minister will meet representatives of eight major companies. Automobile investment with Kubota and Suzuki, semiconductor with Tokyo Electron, electronics manufacturing with Toshiba and automobile supply chain cooperation with Toyo Denso, Japan Aviation Electronics and Nagase & Co. will be on the agenda. Green hydrogen with Canada and hospitality and real estate investment with Marubeni will also be discussed.
In the G-to-B and round table meetings organized during the tour, the Chief Minister will interact with investors on aspects related to the state’s industrial policy, land bank, expressway network, logistics system and skill development. The government hopes that these meetings will give impetus to investment proposals and pave the way for joint projects.
This visit of the Chief Minister is not only an effort to attract investment, but is also considered an important step towards strongly establishing ‘Brand UP’ on the global platform. During this four-day visit, the Chief Minister will present before the investors the picture of the new Uttar Pradesh, where strong law and order, policy stability and fast connectivity are providing a favorable environment for investment. This visit of the Chief Minister can prove to be important in taking the state towards one trillion dollar economy and strengthening ‘Make in UP One Trillion Dollar Economy’ at the global level.
