Bhopal . The process of eviction of many families is going on from Shyamala Hills located in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Umang Singhar has raised questions on this step of the government. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar issued a statement saying that the state government is evicting the tribals only because they are weak. Near Shyamala Hills, slums are being removed by deploying forces of 4 SDMs, 101 officers and 4 police stations, because the area is a VVIP. He asked whether the law is only for the poor? Is all the power of the administration left only to uproot the weak? He has sarcastically said that in the name of Lord Ram, in whose name you are making the poor tribals homeless, the same tribals had fed plums to Lord Shri Ram during his exile. This injustice would not be acceptable even to Lord Shri Ram.
He has further said that the official letter of Madhya Pradesh State Scheduled Tribe Commission makes it clear that eviction of tribals from forest land in Shyamala Hills area is against the rules. Nevertheless, demolition of slums by ignoring the instructions of the Commission exposes the anti-tribal and arbitrary working style of the BJP government.
The Leader of Opposition has alleged that the government and administration are taking action against the rules. They demanded that this action should be stopped immediately, the houses of the poor should not be demolished or they should be given legally respectable rehabilitation. The Leader of Opposition has warned that he will stand in the first row and fight with these tribal families. This fight is not about injustice in the name of faith, but about justice and humanity.
