Amritsar. A unique confluence of common Sikh heritage and religious devotion of India and Pakistan has been witnessed. A very beautiful ‘Golden Fiber Palki Sahib’ has been sent from India to Gurudwara Sri Nankana Sahib (Pakistan), the sacred birthplace of the first Patshahi Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. On Wednesday, it was sent to Pakistan with full religious respect through Attari-Wagah border route (Integrated Check Post) in Amritsar. This Palki Sahib has been specially prepared by his servant Baba Gurdev Singh Kulliwala under the inspiration of the great saint Baba Darshan Singh Kulliwala. Who made the request: Bhai Mahesh Singh, a resident of Sindh province of Pakistan, had made a special request to prepare this Palki Sahib.
Where will it be decorated: This beautiful Palki Sahib will be installed in Gurudwara Sri Nankana Sahib, so that devotees coming from India and abroad can have darshan of it.
Indian security and administrative departments showed promptness in sending Palki Sahib across the border:
Commissioner of Indian Customs Department A. P. Choudhary, Superintendent Ashok Kumar and Border Security Force (BSF) officials completed all the necessary and legal formalities.
After the paperwork was completed, the Indian Custom officials handed over the Palki Sahib to the Pakistan Customs Department.
Bhai Bhupinder Singh Bhalwan, the group leader of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), said that this Palki Sahib will be formally handed over to the associates of Pakistan’s Sikh leader Ramesh Singh Arora and Bhai Mahesh Singh at the Wagah border.
