Bikaner/Lucknow/Patna.

From North India to Eastern India, the weather has taken such a terrible form that no one had imagined. On Saturday afternoon, a devastating sandstorm originating from Pakistan brought darkness like night in the four border districts of Rajasthan. At the same time, so far 48 people have died tragically in the incidents of severe thunderstorm, lightning and lightning that occurred in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during the last 24 to 48 hours. Half of India has been frightened by this deadly U-turn of the weather. A scary form of nature was seen in the desert and north-eastern districts of Rajasthan on Saturday afternoon. Suddenly such a huge cloud of dust arose in Churu, Sriganganagar, Bikaner and Sikar districts, which took the form of a sandy wall several feet high. The speed of the storm was so intense (60 to 80 kilometers per hour) that within no time dust spread everywhere and visibility reached near zero. Vehicles moving on state highways and cities had to turn on headlights only in the afternoon. In the video going viral on social media, people are seen running and locking their houses to save their lives. Thick layers of sand accumulated inside the houses in Churu’s Sardarshahar and Bikaner. Local elders say that they have never seen such a sandstorm before in their life. Earlier, due to a severe thunderstorm near New Bhagega railway station in Sikar district on Friday night, 4 empty containers of a double-decker goods train fell down onto the track.
Chaos in UP and Bihar: 48 deaths due to debris and lightning
On one hand, Rajasthan is battling the dust storm, while in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the weather has become a disaster. 48 people have been confirmed dead in separate accidents due to the intense storm, hailstorm and lightning that have been occurring intermittently for the last two days in both the states. Most of the deaths have occurred due to falling trees, walls and hoardings and being hit by lightning. In Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, many vehicles got buried under the debris caused by mountain cracking after heavy rains. Due to heavy hailstorm in Rohru and Mandi of Himachal Pradesh, the ripe apple crop has been completely destroyed, causing loss worth crores to the gardeners. Fresh snowfall has also been recorded in Hemkund Sahib of Uttarakhand.
Big update from Meteorological Department: Monsoon will be weak this year; Expectation of less than average rainfall in the country
Amidst this seasonal turmoil, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a new and worrying forecast regarding the monsoon. According to the Meteorological Department, the pace of monsoon has slowed down a bit and now it is likely to reach the Kerala coast in the next 7 days. Due to the increasing effect of El Nino, the monsoon season in the country is likely to be weak this year. The average rainfall in the country is expected to be 78 cm during June to September this year, while the average of normal monsoon rainfall in India is considered to be 87 cm. The Meteorological Department has made it clear that even though there may be normal rainfall in some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the monsoon may remain very weak in other large parts of the country, especially the rainfed agricultural areas.
Detailed weather forecast for the next two days
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), this violent form of weather is expected to continue in different parts of the country for the next two days. On May 31, special vigilance warning has been issued in 10 districts of Himachal Pradesh, where there is an alert of severe thunderstorm with wind speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, lightning and hailstorm; This phase may last till June 4th. On the same day, light to moderate rain has been predicted in the plains of Uttarakhand and heavy snowfall in the higher hilly areas. After this, the most dangerous form of weather can be seen in Bihar on June 1, where the department has issued an ‘Orange/Red Alert’ of a storm with a destructive speed of 80 to 90 kilometers per hour and large-scale hailstorm. At the same time, in Tamil Nadu and its coastal areas of South India, heavy rains with strong monsoon winds are expected to continue from May 31 to June 1.
Special Health Advice (Nautapa)
Meteorologists and doctors have warned that even though the mercury has dropped due to storm and rain, the effect of Nautapa is still there. Increasing humidity can increase the risk of heat stroke (heat stroke) in children and the elderly. Avoid sending children out in the afternoon and make them drink only home-made and natural beverages like watermelon juice, aam panna, lemonade and wood apple juice.
