Asha Bhosle started her singing journey in 1943 at the age of just 10. With his demise, that era of Indian cinema and music which had given playback singing new heights has come to an end. When he was brought to Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday evening, Dr. Pratit Samdani and his team were making every possible effort to save him. His sister Usha Mangeshkar and other family members were constantly present in the hospital. According to doctors, his body did not cooperate much with the treatment due to age-related problems and lung disease.
As soon as the news of Asha ji’s demise spread, there was a wave of mourning in Bollywood and the global music fraternity. Great personalities have described it as a ‘personal loss’. Experts say that in the history of music, it is difficult to find an artist with ‘adaptability’ like Asha ji, who adapted herself to the musicians of every generation.
Even though Asha Bhosle ji is no longer physically among us, thousands of songs sung by her will continue to inspire many generations to come. From the fun of ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ to the depth of ‘In Aankhon Ki Masti’, his voice will always resonate.
