Agra, July 20 (). Amid ongoing discussions across the country regarding the proposed ‘Vande Mataram Bill’, Khuddam-e-Roza Taj Mahal Urs Committee Chairman Haji Tahir Uddin Tahir has supported it and said that the duty of any citizen is not only to follow the teachings of his religion but also to respect and obey the laws of the country in which he lives.
He said that if Parliament passes any law then it should be followed by all citizens.
Haji Tahir Uddin Tahir said while talking to news agency that there should not be any objection on ‘Vande Mataram Bill’. Particularly appealing to the Muslim community, he said that if they follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad then there is no reason to oppose such a law. Islam teaches people to practice their religion as well as respect the laws of the country where they reside.
He said that whatever form the bill takes, it should be welcomed. It is the right of the government and Parliament to pass a bill or not, but if any law is made then it is the responsibility of every citizen to follow it. The teachings of Prophet Muhammad also give the same message that a person should respect his religion as well as the rules and laws of his country.
Haji Tahir Uddin Tahir said that if any law is implemented in the country then it should be supported. He reiterated that in any democratic system, respect for law is paramount and all citizens should discharge their duties within the ambit of the Constitution and law. Adhering to the law is an important step towards strengthening social harmony and national unity.
