Haryana government has given strict instructions to all departments regarding the use of specific words related to caste. The government has directed all its departments not to use words like “Harijan” and “Girijan” for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in government letters and other official works.
The government has made it clear in the instructions that these words have not been used for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the Indian Constitution. Therefore, in all official works only the words Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes as mentioned in the Constitution should be used.
Instructions to strictly follow the instructions of the Central Government
The order said it has come to the notice of the government that despite earlier instructions, some departments are still using the words “Harijan” and “Girijan”. In view of this, the state government has directed all departments to strictly follow the instructions of the Central Government and immediately stop using these words in all official matters.
In fact, recently many complaints have come to light regarding the use of words like “Harijan” and “Girijan”. Many objections were raised by the community in this regard, after which the government has now taken strict action.
Big relief for women suffering from serious diseases
Haryana Government has recently given great relief to women suffering from serious diseases and undergoing treatment. The government has also announced to provide the benefit of Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana to poor women suffering from stage 3 and 4 cancer, hemophilia, thalassemia and sickle cell anemia.
According to reports, women suffering from serious illnesses in Haryana were earlier given ₹3,200 every month. Now, they will get ₹2,100 under the Laado Lakshmi scheme, taking the total to ₹5,300. However, of the Lado Lakshmi Yojana amount, ₹1,100 will be deposited in the savings bank account, while the remaining ₹1,000 will be transferred to the fixed deposit (RD) account.
