The day of 17th July 2026 is going to prove to be a historical milestone in the history of Indian Railways and Jind district. According to the official letter issued by Northern Railways, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jind to dedicate to the nation the newly constructed Amrit Bharat stations (Jind and Narwana). On this very special and grand occasion, the Prime Minister will also officially inaugurate India’s first hydrogen plant and the country’s first ‘Hydrogen Train Service’ between Jind and Sonipat. To commemorate this national achievement and inspire the youth, the Railway Administration has planned several educational activities and a historic journey for school children.
200 children will witness the first journey of hydrogen train
As per the instructions sent by Delhi Division (Jind Zone) of Northern Railway to the Block Education Officer (BEO), a special contingent of 200 school children from class 6th to 9th is being selected for this historic inaugural run. These children along with their teachers will board the historic hydrogen train for this journey from Jind City to Sonipat and back. However, as per security and protocol, during return, all the children will be dropped at Pandu Pindara station and from there will be brought back to Jind station.
Competitions will be organized in schools, PM will honor the winners
To engage students in the celebration of this historic moment, special drawing and essay competitions are being organized for children of classes 7th and 8th in 5 selected schools of the region. Two very special topics have been decided for these competitions:
“How would a developed station in my city look in India?”
“What will I do to make a developed India?”
The top winners of these competitions will be awarded and honored from the stage by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself during the main inauguration ceremony on 17 July 2026.
Strict safety and protocol instructions
Considering the national importance of the program and its sensitivity, the Office of the Divisional Railway Manager (Personnel) has requested the Education Department to make proper coordination regarding the selection of children and their logistics and security arrangements, so that the program can be conducted completely safely and smoothly.
