Earlier, Satwik and Chirag achieved success after a long gap of a year and reached the finals for the first time after winning the gold medal at the Asian Games in October 2023. The 9th Indian pair in the world defeated Chinese Taipei’s non-enlightened pair Bing-Vai Lynn and Chenn Cheng Kuan 21-17 21-15 to break the disappointing sequence of six consecutive semi-final defeats in 2025.
In the final, Satwik and Chirag will face China’s third priority pair Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang. Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang defeated Hamntan Feng-Chuh and Feng-Jen Lee 21-19, 21-8 in the semi-finals.
The 24 -year -old Satvik bench is struggling with the persistent problem, an elbow injury and personal suffering of losing his father in February 2025. 28 -year -old Chirag is also constantly struggling with back problems, affecting her rhythm and has to withdraw from the game several times.
