New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. During this, he said that through Mudra Yojana, unsecured loans worth more than Rs 30 lakh crore have been made available to the youth of our country. A significant portion of these loans have been taken by women. Apart from expanding women self-help groups, we have provided direct financial assistance to 10 crore women. Loan assistance has also been provided to our MSME sector. He said that I can confidently say that non-performing assets (NPAs), which were at their highest level during the UPA regime, have now come down to their lowest level. Currently NPAs are less than 1 percent, which shows the good condition of our banks. Moreover, bank profits have reached record highs. He said the same public sector undertakings, which were once seen on the verge of closure by the Congress, were now earning record-breaking profits. With their performance they are giving impetus to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and creating employment at an unprecedented level.
Taking aim at the opposition parties, he said that how much you will deceive the world, once you see the mirror, where will you hide your truth. Be it Congress, TMC, DMK, Left… they have been in power at the Center for decades, have been partners in power. They have got the opportunity to run governments in the states also, but what became their identity? He only worked to fill his pockets, bringing change in the lives of citizens was not his priority.
He said that today when deals are discussed, he says with pride, when deals were discussed, Bofors deal would come up, these were the deals.
He said that we ensured that young and talented officers are given full three years to contribute to the development of the sector. Bastar district of Chhattisgarh, which was once declared an aspirational district, is now in the headlines for hosting the Bastar Olympics. Buses have reached some villages for the first time, indicating significant progress in connectivity and development. This example from an aspirational district clearly shows what real implementation can do.
