New Delhi, November 4 (). The number of such employees working in companies who feel that the salary they are getting is not fair has decreased from 31 percent to 27 percent in the last one year. In a report released on Tuesday, it has been said that there is an improvement in the thinking of employees regarding fair salary all over the world.

The report of human capital management company ADP shows that among the 34 markets included in the survey, India remains at the forefront in terms of pay fairness sentiment. Only 11 percent of employees in India have expressed dissatisfaction with their salary.

It has been said in the report that differences have been seen in different markets. Whereas, ‘Pay Fairness Sentiment’ remains highest in South Korea and Sweden with 45 percent and 39 percent respectively.

Information about gender pay gap is also available in different countries. Unfair pay for women of more than 30 percent was recorded in 15 out of 34 markets, while unfair pay for men was recorded in only five markets.

However, India remains one of the few markets where more men than women feel their salaries are not fair.

In India, dissatisfaction with fair salary (pay fairness dissatisfaction) is reported to decrease with age. Where ‘pay fairness dissatisfaction’ has been seen at 13 percent among employees aged 18 to 26 years and 5 percent among employees aged 55 and above. Which is contrary to the global trend.

Rahul Goyal, Managing Director, ADP India and Southeast Asia, said, “When employees are paid the right salary, they engage better, remain motivated and remain loyal to the organization. That’s why fair pay is more than just a compensation conversation.”

The report said India’s leading position in the Pay Fairness Statement reflects improvements in equal pay practices. But it is necessary for employers to extend this fairness not just to salary but also to opportunities, development and recognition so that employees can be retained in the organization for a long time.
