Jaipur. Setting an inspiring example in the field of humanity and medical education, Sudhir Vishwanathan, resident of Sodala, Jaipur and his sister Dr. Sujata have donated the body of their mother Sosamma Vishwanathan to Sawai Mansingh Hospital, Jaipur posthumously. This body donation will prove helpful in strengthening the training, research and medical education of future doctors. With the guidance and active support of Medical Education Commissioner Naresh Goyal, the entire process of body donation was completed in a dignified, well-organized manner and as per the rules. Goyal inspired the Vishwanathan family for this noble work. To bring the dead body, Sawai Mansingh Hospital sent a vehicle decorated with flowers and the body was brought with full respect. Saplings were planted in the memory of the departed soul at Sawai Mansingh Hospital. Sawai Mansingh Hospital administration expressed its gratitude to the family members who donated their bodies and said that this contribution will always be remembered as an invaluable heritage in the field of medical science. Goyal said that the department will increase awareness among the general public to encourage noble acts like body donation. This will help greatly in improving the quality of medical education. Body donation is a great inspiration for the society, which not only paves the way for human service even after life, but also helps in providing better training to the doctors of the future generation. He said that a special campaign will be launched to take forward the work of body donation and organ donation. It is noteworthy that Rajasthan was recently honored with two national awards for its remarkable progress in organ donation.
On the occasion of body donation, Sawai Mansingh Hospital Superintendent Dr. Mrinal Joshi, Dr. Sanjay Saini, Dr. Ajay Chamadia, Additional Director Dr. Rashmi Gupta, Deputy Director Dr. Vandana Sharma, Neeraj Gangwal, social worker Kamal Sancheti, entrepreneur Rajeev Aggarwal and other officials were present.
