New Delhi. The Iranian Army claimed that it carried out massive attacks on two major US military bases in Kuwait under Operation ‘Saiqeh (Lightning)’. According to the report of Iran’s semi-official news agency ‘Fars News’, the Iranian Army has announced that it targeted two major US military bases in Kuwait under the 16th phase of Operation ‘Saiqeh (Lightning)’. ‘Fars News’ quoted the army as saying that the Iranian army has targeted American military bases with drones on a large scale. The army says that the response to the repeated attacks on Iran by America is a befitting reply.
The Army says that in these attacks the American ammunition stores present at Camp Udairi were targeted. Apart from this, the Patriot missile defense radar system and an air surveillance radar deployed at Ali Al Salem airbase were also attacked.
According to the Iranian military, this action was taken in response to the continuous attacks on Iran by the US. The army claims that civilians were killed in those attacks and bridges, infrastructure and other non-military targets were also targeted.
Camp Udairi, located about 104 kilometers from the Iranian border, is a major US military logistics and force support center. At the same time, Ali Al Salem Air Base is an important airlift center for American military aircraft and is considered one of the main gateways for the deployment of American troops in West Asia.
Earlier on Sunday morning, America attacked the site of the Darkhovin Nuclear Power Plant being built in Khuzestan province in the south-western part of Iran with projectiles.
According to Xinhua news agency, AEOI said in a statement released on its official website that the attack occurred at 3:39 am local time (24:09 GMT). The organization called it an aggressive and cruel action and said it was a violation of Iran’s national sovereignty and international law, although the organization did not say whether there were any casualties or any damage in the attack.
