Jaipur. These days, young artists of Jaipur are mesmerizing the audience by performing in different parts of the country through their unique classical music Jugalbandi.
Under the direction of Jaipur’s violinist Gulzar Hussain, young Dilruba player Mohammad Umar, tabla players Meraj Hussain and Zian Hussain are presenting programs in different cities of the country. The presentations of these artists are bringing the rich tradition of Indian classical music to the audience with new energy and attraction and are bringing glory to Jaipur in the entire country. Recently, he enthralled the audience with his successful performance at Ritu Basant Samaroh (West Zone Cultural Central) held in Udaipur and Him Sangeet Utsav (North Zone Cultural Central) held in Shimla.
Gulzar Hussain
Gulzar Hussain, honored with the title of “Prince of Violin”, renowned violinist Padmabhushan V.G. He is a disciple of Yoga. He is the grandson of the country’s famous tabla player Ustad Kale Khan and son of Tabla Nawaz Ustad Intezaar Hussain.
Gulzar received his early musical education from Vinod Sharma, Rajeev Aggarwal and Ustad Banne Khan. He received education in western music from Master Charles Makhani. He has also been receiving guidance from Ustad Nisar Hussain and Ustad Iftikhar Hussain. With hard work and blessings of his teachers, he has made his mark at the international level and has become an inspirational artist for the young generation.
Gulzar Hussain has presented solo and jugalbandi programs on many prestigious platforms in the country and abroad in South Africa, Mauritius, United Arab Emirates, Sultanate of Oman, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, etc. and has received many national and international awards.
He has also shared the stage with many renowned artistes, including Padma Shri Ahmed Hussain, Padma Shri Mohammad Hussain, Padma Shri Anup Jalota, Padma Shri Mohammad Ali, Padma Shri Mohammad Ghani, playback singer Manhar Udhas, Toshi Sabri, Ravindra Upadhyay, ghazal singer Mohammad Wakil to name a few.

Mohammad Omar
Young Dilruba (peacock veena) player Mohammad Umar is the grandson of renowned tabla player Ustad Kale Khan and son of Ustad Intezar Hussain. He is taking lessons in playing Dilruba from famous sitar player Pt. Ramji Harsh, resident of Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. He is also receiving guidance from Ustad Nisar Hussain Khan and violinist Gulzar Hussain.
In today’s time, there are very few artists left playing Dilruba, an instrument which has become rare. Presently in Rajasthan, Mohammad Umar is among the few artists who are taking lessons on this instrument. He has performed solo Dilruba and Jugalbandi on many stages of the country and has also received awards in many music competitions.

He is the grandson of renowned tabla player Ustad Kale Khan and son and disciple of Ustad Intezar Hussain and also receives guidance from Ustad Nisar Hussain and Ustad Iftikhar Hussain.
At an early age, Meraj has collaborated with famous artists in the country and abroad. Has been honored with many awards including Sur Noor, Girnar Ratna, Vivekananda Award. Has presented many programs in countries like East Africa, Dubai, Oman, Bangkok, Lebanon etc.

He is an emerging artist of the sixth generation of Sangeet Gharana, who is taking Tabla lessons from his grandfather Ustad Intezaar Hussain in musical practice along with his home tradition and is also practicing under his uncle Meraj Hussain and sharing the stage with his teachers.
