Srinagar, March 12 (). An incident of firing has come to light during a program in Jammu and Kashmir. Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and National Conference President Farooq Abdullah was also present in this program.

It is being told that Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary and Farooq Abdullah had arrived to attend a program, where the firing incident took place. Although both are safe.

A person has been detained by the police for firing. The police is interrogating the person and investigating the matter.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Farooq Abdullah’s son Omar Abdullah posted on the social media platform ‘X’ and wrote that Allah is merciful. My father narrowly escaped death. At present the complete information is incomplete, but it is known that a person came very close with a loaded pistol and opened fire.

He further wrote that the security team itself foiled the murder attempt by stopping the accused. Omar Abdullah raised the question that how did someone get so close to the former Chief Minister who was protected by the National Security Force (NSG)?

National Conference MLA Tanveer Sadiq wrote on social media that I have spoken to Dr. Farooq Abdullah Saheb, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder and Nasir Aslam Wani. They are safe and sound.

After the firing incident, several senior police officers reached the residence of National Conference President Farooq Abdullah.

After the incident, there is heavy police deployment at Farooq Abdullah’s residence, the police is busy investigating the matter. However, it is not yet clear on whom this attack was to be carried out and why?

A CCTV video of the incident has surfaced, in which it can be seen that the attacker had fired from very close range. The security personnel immediately controlled him.

No official statement has come from the police regarding this incident.
