Srinagar. Taking major action against hoarding and black marketing of essential commodities in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police have recovered 75 LPG cylinders from Bhaderwah area. The police have also arrested three accused in this case.
According to the police, on Saturday, on the instructions of SSP Doda Sandeep Mehta (JKPS), the team of Police Station Bhaderwah had received information that some people were selling LPG cylinders illegally in Bhaderwah area. Taking the information seriously, the police team immediately reached the spot and conducted a raid. During the raid, police arrested three people from the spot. The arrested accused have been identified as Abdul Hameed son of Mohammad Sultan, resident of Masjid Mohalla Bhaderwah, Ghulam Rasool son of Abdul Aziz Wani, resident of Mashra Dhar Tehsil Marwah, Kishtwar (present address Pasari Bhaderwah) and Mohammad Sakhi son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Kulhand Doda (present address Chakka Bhaderwah).
During police investigation, 8 filled and 15 empty LPG cylinders were recovered from the possession of Abdul Hameed, while 28 filled and 24 empty LPG cylinders were recovered from Ghulam Rasool. In this way, a total of 75 LPG cylinders were recovered from the combined possession of the three. In this regard, FIR number 29/2026 has been registered at Police Station Bhaderwah. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 3/7 of the Essential Commodities Act and further investigation has been started.
Doda Police said that hoarding and black marketing of essential commodities directly affects the general public. In such cases, strict action will continue against the culprits. The police have also appealed to the general public that if they get information about such illegal activity, they should immediately inform the police, so that action can be taken in time. —
