Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and President of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti has expressed deep grief over the brutal murder of a minor in Galwanpora area of Budgam. Describing this incident as heart-wrenching, he said that it has reminded him of the increasing insecurity of children and women in the society. In a post on social media platform X, Mehbooba Mufti wrote that she is shocked to hear about the brutal murder of a 12-year-old girl in Budgam. The allegations of rape have made it even more shocking, disturbing and disturbing. It gives us goosebumps just wondering if our children are really safe. In a statement issued today, Mehbooba Mufti said that this horrific incident has shocked the conscience of every Kashmiri, and she demanded a prompt, transparent and time-bound investigation to bring the culprits to justice.
He said that the barbaric murder of an innocent child has shocked the entire society. The pain and shock of the family cannot be expressed in words. Such incidents are a stain on the moral foundation of our society and require collective introspection as well as strict legal action.
Mehbooba Mufti urged the administration to investigate in a professional and impartial manner and ensure justice. He also called for stronger mechanisms to protect children and women and said rising incidents of violence and abuse cannot be allowed to become an alarming new situation.
Expressing condolences to the bereaved family, he prayed for strength and patience for them in this difficult time and expressed hope that the culprits will be brought to justice at the earliest.
