Jhunjhunu. Boxer Rahul of Shri JJT University has won the silver medal in the All India Inter University Boxing Championship 2025–26 held in the 80–85 kg weight category. This championship was held at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
Giving information, Sports Director Dr. Arun Kumar said that during the competition in men’s 80-85 kg weight category, Rahul performed excellently and made it to the finals by registering great victories in many matches. With this he also ensured his eligibility for the prestigious Khelo India University Games. In the semi-final match, Rahul entered the final by defeating Vishesh Kumar, Kurukshetra University by a one-sided decision of 5-0.
In the final match, Rahul faced Yuvraj, CGC University, Mohali, in which he lost by a margin of 5–0. Along with this, Rahul brought glory to the university by winning silver medal in the competition. Dr. Sanjay Kumar was present with the boxing team as manager.
Chairperson Dr. Vinod Tibrewala expressed happiness and said that the medal won by Rahul is a proof of the high level of training system and excellent sports culture of the university. He said that this success will pave the way for even greater achievements in the future.
President Dr. Madhu Gupta said that Rahul has displayed amazing sporting skills on the stage of All India Inter University. His medal is not just an achievement, but the beginning of many future successes.
On behalf of the university, Registrar Dr. Ajit Kumar, Chief Finance Officer Dr. Aman Gupta, Sports Director Dr. Arun Kumar, Dr. Anil Kumar, Dr. Mahesh Singh, Dr. Surendra Kumar, Dr. Ikram Qureshi and PRO Dr. Ramniwas Soni expressed happiness in congratulating Rahul on winning the medal.
