Jodhpur. A grand celebration of Patotsav was organized today in the ancient Mandalnath Mahadev temple situated amidst the picturesque hills of Bhogishail, 22 km from Suryanagari. On this occasion, along with religious rituals, the main attraction was the unveiling and consecration program of the life-size statue of Lord Parshuram.
Mandalnath Mahadev Temple Trust President Mandaldutt Purohit and Treasurer Gurudutt Purohit said that on the occasion of Patotsav, a grand consecration of the Swayambhu Shivalinga was done in the morning with 151 kg of milk, perfume and other medicinal materials. Under the leadership of Rudripathi Pandit Om Shriram and Acharya Ankit Chhangani, the learned pundits performed the worship of Mahadev with recitation of mantras. In the main function organized in the evening, the life-size statue of Lord Parshuram, the worshipable deity of the Vipra community and a symbol of bravery, was consecrated. The program was completed in the holy presence of Ujjain Chardham Peethadhishwar Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shanti Swaroopanand Giri Maharaj and Ramsnehi Hariram Shastri Maharaj.
Maharaj’s message: Mahamandaleshwar Shantiswaroopanand Ji, while addressing the devotees, called upon them to take inspiration from the life of Lord Parshuram. He said that the society will have to be bound by the thread of unity and along with the ‘Shastra’, it will also have to have the ability to take up ‘weapons’ when necessary.
Many dignitaries of the city participated in this religious festival. Sursagar MLA Devendra Joshi, former Justice Gopal Krishna Vyas, former JDA Chairman Prof. were present as chief guests. Many leaders and intellectuals including Mahendra Singh Rathore, former mayor Rameshwar Dadhich, BJP District President Rajendra Paliwal and social worker Nand Kishore Shah were present. The guests unveiled the idol of Lord Parshuram amidst chanting of mantras and also worshiped the idol of Lord Shiva after renovation.
Trust Secretary Prem Kumar Joshi said that the entire team including Pradeep Kumar Joshi, Suryaprakash Thanvi, Suresh Joshi, Uday Vallabh and Vipin Purohit had special support in making the program successful. Hundreds of devotees participated in the huge Mahaprasad organized after the puja and took religious benefits.
