Under the ‘Kanyadan Mahadaan’ campaign run by Kadamba Development and Research Foundation, Behror, Kanyadan was done with collective support for the marriage of two sisters, Bhanu and Priya, of Khundroth village. These two daughters were not only financially destitute, but their family also did not have the protection of father and brother.
Society connected like pearls: Garland made of Sambal Shilpa Barbarik Aggarwal, director of the organization, gave a beautiful analogy to this noble cause and said:
“Just as a beautiful garland is formed by stringing scattered pearls on a thread, similarly, the small cooperation of every person in the society has together created a garland to secure and empower the future of these daughters.”
Honorable Farewell: Presented Household Items
Under the leadership of the organization’s President Advocate Ashok Kumar Gupta and the women’s team (President Kapuri, Secretary Indu Sharma, Treasurer Nisha Goyal), both the daughters were provided with all the necessary items to establish a household:
Electronics and Kitchen Appliances: Mixer-grinder, gas stove, pressure cooker, dinner set and complete set of utensils.
Clothes and make-up: 11-11 sarees, make-up material and gifts to each daughter.
Bedding: Double bed blankets and sheets.
Financial support: Cash amount was also provided for future needs.
Journey of service: Kanyadaan of 36 daughters in 1.5 years
Highlighting the success of the campaign, Secretary Divyam Aggarwal said that this mission has been going on continuously for the last one and a half years. Kadamba Foundation has so far done the work of donating a total of 36 needy daughters, connecting them with the mainstream of society and giving them a respectable farewell.
His contribution in charitable work
Dozens of women members and donors including Renuka Yadav, Vineeta Sharma, Archana Modi, Kanta Khandelwal, Rekha Jain, Bhagwati Devi and Meenakshi played an important role in making this event successful.
