Keep full vigil on illegal activities on India-Nepal border: CM Samrat Chaudhary

Patna. Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, a high-level review meeting was held on security, administrative and developmental issues related to the India-Nepal border at ‘Samvad’ located at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Friday. District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of 7 districts of the border area joined the meeting through video conferencing. In the meeting, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit gave detailed information through presentation on India-Nepal border management and India-Nepal related issues. District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police of Kishanganj, Madhubani and West Champaran gave information through video conferencing regarding the action taken in the light of the instructions given earlier, and also shared their suggestions. Officers of SSB, IB, ED, NCB, Customs, Income Tax also gave information regarding their respective suggestions and action taken related to the department. In the meeting, detailed discussions were held on security arrangements of India-Nepal border, border management, encroachment, cyber crime, citizenship related matters, pending works and infrastructure development. In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that all the officers and agencies are working well regarding security, administrative and developmental works in the India-Nepal border area. In today’s meeting, information was given regarding the action taken so far and various activities. He said that regular meetings have been held in this regard at the level of the Union Home Minister, at my level, at the level of the Chief Secretary and the DGP. Many tasks related to the decisions taken in the meetings have been completed. Everyone should complete the remaining tasks expeditiously with coordination and commitment.
The Chief Minister said that the total length of India-Nepal border is 735 kilometers. 7 districts of Bihar, 70 police stations and 194 BOPs of SSB are located on this border. He said that everyone should ensure that no illegal or immoral work takes place on the India-Nepal border. All police station in-charges should ensure that they work efficiently and that there are no irregularities. Maintain full vigil on all activities in the border area while maintaining good India-Nepal relations. Effective monitoring should be ensured up to a radius of 15 kilometers from all checkposts. Exercise special vigilance on economic crimes and suspicious activities.
The Chief Minister said that 100 suitable places should be identified in Kishanganj district, where Urdu schools can be established. To stop smuggling of fertilizers and drugs, regular coordination meetings should be organized between the district administration, police and border security forces. He said that in the border districts, a special team should be formed at the police station level to identify and verify such persons whose income has suddenly increased compared to the known sources of income. Complete information about such cases should be compiled and legal action should be taken.
