Keep public places clean and avoid use of single use plastic - Divisional Commissioner

Cleanliness of the district is our collective responsibility – District Collector


Bharatpur. To commemorate the completion of two years of the tenure of the state government, a comprehensive cleanliness campaign was organized on Shri Bihari Ji Mandir Parikrama Marg and temple premises in the district headquarters Bharatpur on Sunday. The main objective of this campaign was to ensure cleanliness of religious and tourist places and to increase awareness about cleanliness among the general public. Bharatpur district also took active participation in this special cleanliness campaign being run across the state.
The campaign was launched under the leadership of Divisional Commissioner Nalini Kathotiya and District Collector Kamar Chaudhary. Additional District Collector (Administration) Ghanshyam Sharma, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shravan Bishnoi, Additional Chief Executive Officer Rekha Rani, District President Shivani Dayma and many administrative officers, public representatives and Municipal Corporation personnel participated in it. Everyone gave the message of cleanliness by donating their labor themselves. Everyone participated enthusiastically in making the temple premises and parikrama route clean.
Divisional Commissioner Nalini Kathotiya, while addressing the campaign, said that on the occasion of completion of two years of the state government led by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, cleanliness campaigns are being organized in the entire state. Large-scale cleaning work was also carried out in various areas in Bharatpur district. He stressed that cleanliness is not just a government responsibility but the duty of every citizen. Describing cleanliness as service to God, he said that where there is cleanliness, positive energy resides there. Appealing to the general public, he said that they should keep their homes as well as roads, drains and public places clean and avoid using single-use plastic.
Waste management system should be strengthened
In his address, District Collector Qamar Chaudhary described Bharatpur as a major tourist district and said that there are historical and religious places like Keoladeo Ghana National Bird Sanctuary (UNESCO World Heritage), Lohagarh Fort, Shri Bihari Ji Temple, Kishori Mahal, Laxman Temple and Ganga Temple, which attract lakhs of tourists from India and abroad. Therefore, cleanliness of the district is our collective responsibility. He said that active participation of the general public is necessary along with the efforts of the Municipal Corporation in building a clean and beautiful Bharatpur. Citizens should put the waste generated from their homes only in designated garbage containers, so that the waste management system can be strengthened. Also contribute to environmental protection by avoiding the use of plastic. He said that this campaign was not only limited to physical cleanliness, but it also strengthened the awareness of cleanliness and the feeling of collective responsibility among the common people. The district administration expressed its resolve to continue such campaigns, so that Bharatpur becomes more attractive and clean for tourists.
Through this campaign, the district administration reiterated its resolve to make Bharatpur clean, healthy and beautiful. Municipal Corporation Secretary Pratap Singh, Girdhari Tiwari, Tejveer Meena, Dhirendrapal Singh, Shyam Sundar, Arvind Pal, Jagdish, Gaurav, Mohan, Jagat Gurjar, Mohan Rarh, Triloki Sharma and other officers and public representatives were present in the campaign.
