The District and Sessions Judge has granted bail to the Congress leaders arrested in connection with the clash with the police during the agitation against the private hospital. Major arrests in this case included Congress state secretary Ramnivas Kukana.
It is reported that during the demonstration the police had arrested many Congress leaders including Kukana. After the initial bail application was rejected in the lower court, the bail application was made before the District and Sessions Judge, which was accepted by the judge. After this all the arrested leaders got relief.
The background of the incident is that during the agitation against the private hospital, tension arose between the protesters and the police. During this period, the police detained many leaders in an attempt to control the movement. Due to this movement, a case was registered against 13 people including Kukana under various sections. The main charge among these was under the section of attempting to obstruct government work and culpable homicide.
Congress leaders said that their demonstration was peaceful and in public interest. The leaders told the court that the police took inappropriate action in the name of controlling the demonstration and their rights were violated. After getting bail, the leaders assured their supporters that they will continue to raise their voice peacefully on issues of public interest in future also.
The police said that the investigation of the case is ongoing and even after getting bail, the legal process will continue against all the accused. Authorities also made it clear that maintaining law and public order during the protests was a priority.
The debate regarding this matter continues in political circles. Some opposition parties have seen it as criticism of the government and administration, while supporting parties say that the granting of bail maintained public confidence in the justice system. The case also showed how sensitive an issue maintaining law and order can be during demonstrations and protests.
Experts say that it is necessary for leaders participating in political demonstrations to keep in mind the limits of the law. At the same time, the administration and police should also adopt appropriate measures to control the peaceful demonstration, so that there is no dispute or violence of any kind.
Thus, the bail of Congress leaders arrested in the agitation against the private hospital remains the focus of further legal proceedings and political debate in the case. The outcome of the court hearing and investigation in the coming days will decide the direction of this case.
