Madrid, April 22 (). In the Spanish football league La Liga, Real Madrid registered a 2-1 win against Alaves and reduced the gap from table-toppers Barcelona to six points.
Real Madrid adopted an aggressive stance in the beginning of the match. In the 29th minute, star forward Kylian Mbappe gave the team the lead with a brilliant shot from outside the penalty area. Madrid’s dominance continued even after this. Just before halftime, Eder Militao left the field injured, which could become a matter of concern for the team.
Vinicius Junior doubled his team’s lead in the second half. He scored a wonderful goal after a brilliant move by Fede Valverde. Although Tony Martínez reduced the gap for Alaves by scoring a goal in injury time of the match, but by then it was too late.
On the other hand, Real Betis ended its seven-match win drought by defeating Verona 3-2. The opening goal was scored by Victor Tsygankov, but later goals by Marc Roca and Abde Ejalzouli overturned the score. In the end, Rodrigo Riquelme scored the decisive goal and gave the team victory.
In another match, Athletic Club defeated Osasuna 1-0. This win was very important for the team as it almost ended their threat of relegation. The only goal of the match was scored by Gorka Gurujeta. Goalkeeper Unai Simon made a brilliant save and also stopped a penalty.
The match between Mallorca and Valencia ended in a 1-1 draw. Samu Costa scored for Mallorca, while Omar Sadiq equalized for Valencia.
