New Delhi, July 1 (). Amid the massive floods in Arunachal Pradesh, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have made an air and ground tour of the affected areas. He took stock of the situation there. Along with this, Shivraj Singh Chouhan met the affected families and assured them of all possible help and said that under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central and State Governments are standing strongly with them in this crisis.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan conducted an aerial survey of several flood affected areas including Key Panyor district. Along with this, he also reached the villages by road and directly communicated with the affected families and heard their problems. During the meeting with the victims, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in an emotional manner that suffering is reduced only by sharing and supporting each other in times of crisis is the meaning of life. Talking especially to the sisters, he assured them that they are not alone and the Central and State Governments are with them at every step.
He clarified that a detailed survey of the damage caused by the flood will be conducted and new houses will be built for those whose houses have been washed away. The damage caused to the fields, destruction of crops, loss of livestock, all will be assessed and appropriate compensation will be given. Ration and essential materials are also being provided as immediate relief. The Union Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is concerned about the situation and has given instructions to ensure all possible assistance to the affected. Under this, the Central Government team along with the State is continuously engaged in relief and rehabilitation work.
During the visit, Shivraj Singh Chouhan appreciated the community efforts being made by the local people. He himself helped in repairing the flood damaged road and building a protection wall and said that this participation of the society is inspiring. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the flood has caused huge devastation and the damage is being continuously assessed, but the most commendable thing is that the local community itself has taken the initiative to find a solution without waiting for the government.
He said that the brothers and sisters of the village have taken up the task of building a protection wall to prevent the river water from entering the village again without any formal approval or estimate, which is extremely inspiring. Saluting this community spirit, he said that if the society is aware and active in this way, then many big works automatically become possible.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured that the government will fulfill its responsibility with full honesty and no stone will be left unturned in relief and rehabilitation works.
He said that the central and state governments are working with full readiness under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu. He also said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, the Central Government will also provide all possible support so that life in the affected areas can become normal as soon as possible.
Earlier, he paid a courtesy call on Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Kaivalya Trivikram Parnaik at Lok Bhawan in Itanagar and during this also discussed about the relief work. Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed confidence that this crisis will soon be overcome with the joint efforts of the government and the society. He said that together we will overcome this difficult time, Arunachal will smile again.
