Behror. MNREGA workers dialogue program was organized under the “MNREGA Bachao Sangram” campaign in Gram Panchayat Nangli Balahir of Majri Kalan block of Behror assembly constituency. The program was led by Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee Secretary and Congress candidate Sanjay Yadav. A large number of MNREGA labor brothers and sisters participated in the program. During the program, the anti-people and anti-labor changes made in the MNREGA scheme by the BJP government were discussed in detail. In particular, concerns were expressed over the changes made in the funding pattern of MNREGA. Earlier in the MNREGA scheme, 90 percent of the amount was borne by the Central Government and 10 percent by the State Government, which has now been changed to 60 percent by the Central Government and 40 percent by the State Government. This will put additional financial burden on the state governments, which will have a direct impact on MNREGA works, employment opportunities and timely payment of wages. Along with this, changes made in the functioning of MNREGA were also discussed. Earlier, the Gram Sabha used to decide what works would be done in the village, due to which development works were done according to the local needs and the villagers got employment in the village itself. But now due to centralization of works, many works will be decided from above and many works will be done outside the village, due to which the role of Gram Sabha will be weakened and rural development will be affected.
During the dialogue, the workers demanded guarantee of employment, providing work in the village itself, timely payment of wages and implementing the MNREGA scheme as per its original spirit. In the program, anger was seen among the workers regarding the policies of the BJP government.
On this occasion, Sanjay Yadav said that the Congress Party has always been the voice of the workers, the poor and the deprived classes and has been fighting for their rights, rights and respect and will continue to fight with full strength in the future also. The Congress party will oppose at every level any attempt to weaken a public welfare scheme like MNREGA.
Congress workers including Majri Kalan Block Congress President Vikas Shekhawat, Mandal President Ravindra Monu Raisarana, Ashish, Tej Singh, Anish, Dinesh Sain, Chetan were present in the program.
