Rajsamand. Taking a major action on Friday, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the district has arrested Land Records Inspector Kamlesh Chandra Khatik red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 7 lakh. This action was taken by ACB post Rajsamand on the instructions of the headquarters. Anti-Corruption Bureau Director General of Police Mr. Govind Gupta said that A. C.B. Chowki Rajsamand received a complaint to the effect that Mr. Kamlesh Chandra Khatik Hall, Land Records Inspector, Vrit Bhana, Tehsil Kunwaria District Rajsamand, was harassed by demanding a bribe amount of Rs. 10,00,000/- in lieu of the measurement work being carried out by the Land Management Department in Rajsamand district of the complainant’s place as per the occasion and for correcting the map. Is being done. Considering the seriousness of the complaint, ACB made a complete plan and prepared the trap.
140 genuine notes of Rs 500-500 and 1260 dummy notes
During the trap operation conducted today, Kamlesh Chandra Khatik was arrested with Rs 7 lakh. This included Rs 70,000 in real currency (140 notes of Rs 500), Rs 6,30,000 in dummy notes (1260 notes of Rs 500).
The moment he handed over a total of Rs 7,00,000, the ACB team caught him red handed.
Action under the supervision of higher officials
This action was taken under the supervision of ACB Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr. Rameshwar Singh and under the leadership of Rajsamand ACB post Additional Superintendent of Police Himmat Charan. The entire team was present on the spot during the action and all the evidence was duly seized.
The interrogation of the accused is continuing under the supervision of Smita Srivastava, Additional Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau. Many important facts are expected to emerge in the preliminary inquiry.
ACB has registered a case in this matter under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation will also find out whether the accused was involved in bribery in other cases also. His office, records and personal properties will also be examined.
This action is being seen as a big message in Rajsamand district that ACB is now keeping a strict eye on corruption related to land records and measurement.
