A 22 -year -old girl suffered a major setback at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi when her was found to be fake during her London visa investigation. The woman was taken into custody after the incident. Police interrogation revealed a large human trafficking racket, whose mastermind has been arrested from Punjab.
Fake visa and arrest
IGI Airport DCP Vichitra Veer said that the case came to light when 22 -year -old Amarjeet Kaur, a resident of Kapurthala, Punjab, was to fly to London. During the immigration clearance, officials found that the UK visa on their passport was forged. Immediately Amarjeet Kaur was detained and handed over to the airport police.
Stuck in desire for better life
During interrogation, Amarjeet Kaur told the police that she was going to London to meet her brother and get a better job. He said that she had applied for the visa, but she failed in the IELTS examination. About 4-5 months ago, he met an agent named Saravan Singh alias Kohli (52), who used to send people abroad illegally. Kohli promised to send him to London for Rs 22 lakh and took an advance of Rs 5 lakh. About a week ago, these agents put a fake UK visa on Amarjeet’s passport.
Mastermind arrest, racket revealed
Based on the information received from Amarjeet Kaur, the police formed a team under the leadership of Inspector Virendra Kumar Tyagi. With the help of technical surveillance and local information, the police arrested Saravan Singh alias Kohli, the mastermind of this racket from his hideout in Kapurthala, Punjab.
According to DCP Vichitra Veer, Kohli has studied up to 12th standard and was sending people abroad through fake documents for many years. He used to target people who were looking for a job or better life abroad. The police is now looking for his partner and is trying to identify other people associated with this entire network.
Police action continues
The case has exposed the seriousness of the ongoing fake visa and passport racket at IGI Airport. DCP Vichitra Veer said that in September alone, 23 people have been arrested in cases related to fake documents. These include many people who were wanted in already recorded cases. The police have also taken action against more than 25 people harassing passengers and involved in illegal activities. Police teams are continuously campaigning against such fake agents and their associates.
