Maulana Shahabuddin said on the film 'Haq', an attempt to stir up issues like triple talaq and drag the community into controversies.

Bareilly . Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, said about the film ‘Haq’ that it has now become such a hobby in the film industry to find a Hindu-Muslim angle in every story. The film ‘Haq’ is also a part of the same series. He said that the film industry, government and media today have become experts in catching the weak pulse of Muslims. This film is an attempt to stir up the issue of triple talaq among Muslims and drag the community into controversies. Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi expressed a sharp reaction on the film ‘Haq’ and said that this film is an attempt to fan the issue of triple talaq and drag the community into controversies. Nowadays, the film industry has become fond of making some such story in which Hindu-Muslim angle can be added and debate can be started in the society.
Maulana said that in the film ‘Haq’, the story has been woven keeping in mind the triple talaq law made by the Government of India, which directly tries to touch religious sentiments. This is an attempt to bring the same issue on screen again, just as there was an uproar across the country regarding the Shah Bano case in 1985.
Referring to an old meeting of his, Razvi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had told him that if Muslim religious leaders had fulfilled their religious responsibilities properly, then there would have been no need for the government to enact triple talaq law.
He said that the government was forced to make this law keeping in mind the problems of Muslim women. He has not watched any film since childhood, nor will he ask Muslim women to watch the film ‘Haq’.
He appealed that people should act wisely instead of getting carried away by emotions on such issues, because such films become a means of creating confusion and division in the society.
