Lucknow . Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has expressed deep concern over the conflict over keeping the photograph in Lalwala village of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He said that there is an atmosphere of tension in the area due to many people of Dalit community getting injured in this incident. Mayawati demanded immediate impartial action from the police and administration to bring the situation under control and also appealed to both the parties to resolve the dispute through peace, harmony and legal means. BSP chief Mayawati wrote on social media platform Solve it the other way.”
It is noteworthy that the dispute between two communities over land ownership in Lalwala village located in Deoband area of Saharanpur turned into a violent conflict. There was heavy stone pelting and fighting between the two sides, in which many people were injured. When the situation worsened, the police reached the spot and had to disperse the crowd by lathicharge.
One side alleges that people from the other side were trying to encroach on their land and install the statue of a great man of their society there, while the other side says that the land in question is their purchased property. As soon as information about the incident was received, officials and workers of Bhim Army, Azad Samaj Party and Bahujan Samaj Party also reached the village, due to which the tension in the area increased further. Considering the sensitivity of the matter, heavy police force has been deployed in the village.
According to police officials, there is a dispute between the two parties regarding the ownership of the land and the entire matter is being investigated and necessary legal action is being taken. At the same time, the national president of Azad Samaj Party and Chandrashekhar Azad were stopped by the police on the way from going to the village.
