Lucknow . Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Friday targeted Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajkumar Bhati over his controversial remarks on the Brahmin community. Along with this, Mayawati raised questions on the silence of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and demanded an apology from him to the Brahmin community. BSP chief Mayawati wrote on social media platform Even after a case has been registered by the police as a result of this controversy, this matter is not coming to a halt. The silence of the leadership of SP, which practices narrow casteist politics, is making the matter more serious and gaining momentum. The situation is also becoming tense.” Mayawati further wrote, ”Anyway, the hurt that has been caused to the honor, respect and self-respect of the Brahmin community by the irresponsible statement of the SP spokesperson, then taking it seriously, the SP chief should take immediate cognizance of this and apologize and repent to the Brahmin community, then it would probably be appropriate.”
Former CM Mayawati said that this episode has also proved in the eyes of the people that SP’s anti-Brahmin casteist behavior, especially towards Dalits, extremely backward and Muslim communities, has not changed but has deepened. Along with this, the tremendous resentment that is being seen in this society regarding the attitude of the present government towards the Brahmin community is also not hidden from anyone. It is well known that BSP, like the entire society, has given full respect to the Brahmin community in the party and the government as well as given them proper participation at every level, that is, there is no use and throw in the BSP, but the interest of the entire community has always been protected.
Let us tell you that SP leader Rajkumar Bhati had allegedly made objectionable remarks about the Brahmin community, after which a sharp reaction was seen from social media to political circles. Many organizations and people protested against the statement and demanded action. Rajkumar Bhati clarified that his intention was not to hurt the sentiments of any society. He publicly apologized and said that if his statement had hurt anyone’s sentiments, he was sorry.
