Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has expressed grief over the murder of Surya Chauhan in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Writing on the social media platform ‘X’, he said that the murder of young Surya Chauhan, resident of Khoda in Ghaziabad district, is a very sad and worrying incident. He stressed that the government and administration should take appropriate steps to prevent such incidents, which are happening again and again. He further said that the culprits involved in this incident should be identified and punished as per law. Moreover, as election time approaches, such incidents could have widespread and adverse consequences; Therefore, the government should remain completely alert.
**Expressed grief over the murder of Gopal Sharma**
Earlier, on Friday, Mayawati had also expressed grief over the murder of Gopal Sharma in Jewar, Greater Noida. In a post on ‘X’, he wrote that the murder of 15-year-old Gopal Sharma in Jewar, Greater Noida is very sad and worrying. He demanded that the government conduct a high-level inquiry into the incident and ensure that all the accused are punished severely. Regarding the tragic Hamirpur incident, he posted on ‘ He said that this is also the demand of BSP.
**Expressed concern over Saharanpur violence**
It is noteworthy that on May 11, Mayawati had also expressed concern over the clashes that took place in Lalwala village of Saharanpur. He said the incident, in which several people from the Dalit community were injured, has created an atmosphere of tension in the area. He demanded that the police and administration take immediate and impartial action to bring the situation under control, and also appealed to both the parties to maintain peace and harmony and resolve the dispute through legal means.
