Bhilwara. State officials of Consumer Welfare Committee, Rajasthan submitted a memorandum to the Superintending Engineer of the Electricity Department and expressed their anger against the recovery of the difference in security amount in the electricity bills of consumers. The committee said that the electricity department is collecting security difference amount ranging from Rs 2 thousand to Rs 20 thousand from the consumers by adding it to the bill. In case the amount is not deposited, he is sending a notice and threatening to disconnect the connection, which is completely unfair. The committee’s argument was that when there has been no increase or change in the rates of load issued in the bills or of the electricity unit consumed, then why is the difference in the security amount deposited in the department of the consumers now being recovered from them.
State Organization Minister of the committee, Pankaj Hemrajani said that among those who submitted the memorandum, State President Advocate Ashok Jain, State General Secretary Jitendra Kumar Maru, Youth State President Anil Pareek, Youth State Vice President Suryaprakash Sargara, State Secretary Qayyum Mohammad, Advocate Ratanlal Chandel and Advocate Omprakash Teli were present.
