New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on phone to two important leaders of the Gulf region on Tuesday afternoon. Expressing concern over the current situation, he spoke to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah of Kuwait on taking appropriate steps for the welfare of expatriate Indians.

The Prime Minister expressed concern over the recent attacks in both the countries and inquired about the safety and well-being of the Indian community living there. During the talks, emphasis was also laid on maintaining regional stability and peace. India reiterated its close ties with the Gulf countries and reiterated its commitment to continue cooperation and coordination. This conversation took place amid the deteriorating situation in the Middle East and many Indians stranded in different countries. The Prime Minister spoke to King Abdullah II of Jordan on Monday and expressed deep concern over the rapidly deteriorating situation in the Middle East. This conversation took place at a time when the military conflict between America, Israel and Iran has intensified and neighboring countries have also become vulnerable to retaliatory attacks and missile attacks.
The Prime Minister had given this information on the social media platform ‘X’. He said he discussed the regional situation with the King of Jordan and reiterated India’s support for the peace, security and welfare of Jordan’s people.
PM Modi also thanked King Abdullah II for ensuring the safety and care of the Indian community living in Jordan during the current crisis.
This conversation with King Abdullah II comes after PM Modi’s discussions with the leaders of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, in which he condemned the attacks on their sovereignty and expressed India’s solidarity.
It is clear from these high-level contacts that India is giving top priority to the security of its large overseas Indian community amid increasing tensions in West Asia and is also advocating regional stability and reducing tension.
India has consistently appealed for restraint, dialogue and peaceful resolution in international forums. Prime Minister Modi once again underlined the traditionally strong bilateral relations between India and Jordan, which are based on mutual respect and cooperation.
