New Delhi, June 7 (). Union Minister of State (MoS) for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh on Sunday launched ‘NZP Sathi App’, a smart digital guide, at Delhi Zoo.
He also inaugurated self-ticketing kiosks at the National Zoo (NZP), New Delhi, which aims to improve visitor experience through smart navigation and ease of online ticket booking, a statement said.
The Minister of State also visited the exhibition of creative works prepared by the students participating in the recently concluded Summer Vacation Program 2026.
He appreciated the creativity of the young participants and praised the zoo authorities for organizing educational and awareness programs that promote a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation among the students.
Kirti Vardhan Singh formally launched the ‘NZP Sathi App’ and inaugurated the self-ticketing kiosk, which is an important step towards visitor convenience and digital transformation at the National Zoo.
The ‘NZP Saathi App’, available on both Android and iOS platforms, has an interactive digital map and smart navigation system, enabling visitors to locate animal enclosures, toilets, buggy points, exit gates and other facilities.
Theme-based tours are also available in the app, including Express Tour, Family Tour, Grand Zoo Tour and personalized ‘My Tour’ options.
Self-ticketing kiosks will facilitate online ticket booking through UPI based digital payments and free Wi-Fi connectivity will also be available for on-the-spot ticket booking.
After the inauguration, Minister of State Singh held a meeting with officials and section in-charges to review the ongoing initiatives and discuss strategies for overall promotion, modernization and efficient management of the National Zoo.
Kirti Vardhan Singh also inspected the bird houses and reviewed the summer management arrangements for bird collection.
They assessed the condition of the enclosures and made suggestions for further improvements in animal welfare and habitat management.
During his visit to the veterinary hospital, Kirti Vardhan Singh observed the care being given to the sick animals admitted to the hospital and had detailed discussions about the health care and management practices with the zoo veterinarians and animal health staff.
