Miracle of Nature! Heartbeat and breathing process of plants captured on camera for the first time

Have you ever thought that the plants in your house also breathe like you? The only difference is that it was impossible to see it with the naked eye. But scientists have done this miracle, which is no less than a miracle. Scientists at the University of Illinois, USA, have created a magical camera which has recorded the breathing process of plants live. This video is going viral on social media.

According to reports, with the help of this device named ‘Stomata in Sight’, scientists have been able to see the opening and closing of small holes (stomata) present on the leaves, which are not visible to the naked eye. The viral video shows that as soon as light falls on the leaves, small holes open and close as soon as it gets dark. This is how plants breathe.

Why is this discovery so important?
Researcher Andrew Leakey says that this is not just a video, but the future of farming. Now we will be able to study how plants control their breathing when the temperature increases. He also said that this technology will help in making such seeds which will grow well even in less water.

This study has been published in the journal ‘Plant Physiology’ and is being considered as a ‘game changer’ for future farming. At present, this video related to the mysterious world of plants is gaining a lot of discussion on social media. The benefit of this scientific achievement will be that now we will be able to grow such crops which will not spoil even in less water and extreme heat.
