Ali Fazal- Richa Movie: After working together for many years in the Fukrey franchise, actors Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha will now be seen opposite each other for the first time. The duo will play the lead roles in an untitled situational comedy film, which is being jointly produced by Scenework Productions and Giriraj Productions. Along with him, powerful actor Kumud Mishra will also be seen in an important role in this film.
Set against the backdrop of the colorful and hectic life of Delhi, this film will be directed by actor, writer and director Shashi Verma. As an actor, he has appeared in films like Bala, Gunjan Saxena and Kathal, while as a writer-director he has made AK47 and Murga Trophy.
Shashi Verma is known for his stories that beautifully combine humour, emotions and realities of everyday life. His new film will also bring a light-hearted social message along with entertainment. The shooting of the film will begin in the second half of 2026 and it is planned to be released in theaters in April 2027.
Although Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha have been seen together in the Fukrey franchise, till now the audience has not seen them opposite each other in a story whose entire story revolves around them. This is the reason why this new pair is being considered the biggest attraction of the film.
Regarding this film, Ali Fazal said, “I have always believed that the best comedy comes out of honest characters and real situations. As soon as I read this script, I felt there was something very special about it. It is also very exciting to share the screen with Richa like this for the first time. I am eagerly waiting to see what new we come up with together. I have been a fan of Shashi Sir’s work for a long time and wanted to work with him. That’s what I was excited to be a part of this film. There is also a big reason for this.”
Richa Chadha said, “The simplicity and honesty of this story impressed me the most. It is funny, emotional and deeply connected to the lives of common people. The story also has a beautiful social message. Ali and I have worked together before, but never like this. The audience will get a chance to see us in a completely new light. This story reminded me of my early school days in Delhi’s Yamuna crossing. Ali is a brilliant actor and for the first time this I am very excited to work with him, although our characters had a different relationship in Fukrey, but in this film the audience will get to see our new chemistry.
Director Shashi Verma said, “This film is a story of people, relationships, society’s attitudes and those small incidents that can completely change one’s life. Delhi itself is like a character in this film. The brilliant actors like Ali, Richa and Kumud add depth, spontaneity and heart to this world. I am eagerly waiting for the shooting to begin.”

The announcement comes after the completion of the shooting of Scenework Productions and Giriraj Productions’ kids-based sports film Murga Trophy. Both the production houses are now preparing to present new and interesting stories of different genres to the audience.
