Sirsa. In view of the serious traffic chaos and huge problems being faced by the citizens due to the under construction railway overbridge on Chattargarh Patti Road in Sirsa city, Sirsa Lok Sabha MP and former Union Minister Kumari Selja has written a letter to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav demanding immediate intervention. He said that due to the construction of the overbridge, the connectivity between the eastern and western parts of the city has almost come to a standstill, due to which the daily life of the people of the city with a population of more than three lakh is being badly affected. School children, women, elderly, patients, traders and two-wheeler drivers also have to travel long distances for small tasks. Kumari Selja has mentioned in her letter that in the current circumstances, major areas of the city are cut off from each other and due to non-availability of alternative routes, citizens are taking a lot of time to cover even small distances. He said that until the construction of Chattargarh Patti Railway overbridge is completed and the proposed underbridge on Court Road is built, temporary measures are necessary to provide relief to the public.
In view of this, Kumari Selja has requested the Railway Minister that the old railway gate located on Chatragarh Patti Road should be opened temporarily for small vehicles immediately so that the common people can get immediate relief and the traffic pressure on the city can be reduced. Along with this, he has also requested that a new alternative route should be developed around the goods warehouse area near Sirsa Railway Station or the existing route should be reopened with immediate effect, so that citizens can get safe and smooth movement during the overbridge construction period.
Kumari Selja said that construction of railway overbridge is necessary for the development of Sirsa, but due to this the city residents should not have to face unnecessary problems. He expressed hope that the Railway Ministry will take this issue seriously and take a decision soon, so that the people of Sirsa can get relief and the traffic system in the city can become normal.
