A unique incident took place in a local train in Mumbai late on Thursday night, when a young man safely gave birth to a child after following the doctor’s advice through video call. This incident which took place at Ram Mandir Railway Station in Goregaon shocked the entire city. A young man gave birth to a child at Ram Mandir station.

According to reports, 27-year-old video cameraman Vikas Bedre was traveling in a local train when a woman sitting in the next compartment suddenly went into labor. The woman has been identified as Ambika Jha (24), a resident of Virar, who was traveling with her two young children.

Vikas immediately pulled the emergency chain of the train, stopped it and ran to help. He tried to contact the nearest doctor, but since it was night, no one was present. Seeing the condition worsening, Vikas made a video call to his acquaintance gynecologist Dr. Devika Deshmukh. By then the child’s head had come out. The doctor advised Vikas to deliver slowly through video call.

On the doctor’s advice, Vikas borrowed scissors from a tea vendor on the platform and a bedsheet from a nearby passenger. Following the doctor’s advice, Vikas cut the umbilical cord with scissors and completed the safe delivery.

After some time, the child was born and the passenger present at the spot heaved a sigh of relief after hearing his cry. Then her family members took the woman in a private ambulance to Cooper Hospital in Juhu, where doctors declared both mother and child healthy.

What did the young man say?

Vikas Bedre said, “That moment was the biggest test of my life. I did as the doctor said. As soon as I heard the baby crying, I felt that God has given me a chance to give birth to a new life.” After this incident, Vikas is being called real-life Rancho on social media. People have posted photos and videos praising him.

In fact, Aamir Khan’s character, Rancho, in the 2009 film 3 Idiots also talks through video calls like Vikas. Railway officials have also praised Vikas’s courage and agility. He says that because of his wisdom and humanity a big problem was averted.
