Degana. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolution is to ensure their participation in building a developed India by empowering the four major castes – women, youth, farmers and laborers. In this sequence, many important schemes are being run to strengthen women socially, economically and politically, through which women are playing an important role in the upliftment of their families as well. The Chief Minister interacted with women at the Gram Vikas Chaupal organized in Tilanesh village of Degana on Friday. During this, he took information about the changes in his life through various schemes and also received suggestions. The Chief Minister called upon women to take maximum benefit of the government schemes and also involve other women. He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, many historic steps have been taken in the honor of women. In this sequence, protection and education of daughters was promoted through Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign. At the same time, under the Swachh Bharat Mission, protection of the honor and dignity of women was ensured by building toilets in every house. Similarly, through Ujjwala Yojana, crores of women were provided cooking gas connections, freeing them from smoke, which improved their health and standard of living. Similarly, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, houses are being provided by giving priority to women.
Referring to the women associated with animal husbandry and dairy, he said that the state government is providing a subsidy of Rs 5 per liter to the cattle farmers through dairy. Also, through Rajivika, women are being moved towards self-employment and self-reliance by connecting them with self-help groups. At the same time, under Lakhpati Didi Scheme, women are being encouraged for entrepreneurship by providing loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh at only 1.5 percent interest rate.
The Chief Minister said that along with strengthening women economically, important decisions have also been taken to empower them socially and politically. In this series, through the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, the way is being paved to give 33 percent reservation to women in the Assemblies and Parliament, which will further strengthen their participation in the government’s schemes and decision process.
He said that in order to strengthen and secure the future, initiatives like Mother Voucher Scheme were started, under which services like sonography are being provided free of cost to pregnant women. Similarly, milk is being provided regularly through Anganwadi centers while paying special attention to the nutrition of small children.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is also providing the benefits of social security pension schemes directly to the bank accounts of senior citizens. At the same time, while respecting the faith, it is also running schemes like pilgrimage for senior citizens.
On this occasion, Public Health and Engineering Minister Kanhaiyalal Chaudhary, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Manju Baghmar, State Farmers Commission Chairman C.R. Chaudhary, Devnarayan Board Chairman Omprakash Bhadana, MLA Ajay Singh Kilak, Laxman Ram Kalru, Revantram Danga and other public representatives and a large number of women were present.
Communication with the Chief Minister, gratitude to the government
Earlier the financial condition of my house was weak. After joining Rajivika, I started sewing work. After this I was made the cluster manager. Now my annual income is around Rs 1.25 lakh. I am grateful to the government for empowering me by making me Lakhpati Didi and giving me a distinct identity in the society.
– Neeru Solanki, Cluster Manager
It was difficult to run the household due to my husband’s low income. But association with Rajivika became the basis of my progress. Initially I started a small business, in which my husband also supported me fully. Gradually, with the increase in our income, the financial condition of the family started improving. Today our annual income is approximately Rs 2.5 lakh.
– Anita Gaur, Lakhpati Didi
After joining Rajivika, my life got a new direction and identity. After getting training, I became an animal friend. Today I have four buffaloes and an electronic sewing machine. I am earning around Rs 40 thousand every month from animal husbandry and tailoring work. This has not only strengthened the financial condition of my family, but has also given me the confidence to become self-reliant.

– Kamala, animal friend

There was a time when our self-help group operated from a rented building. Today, with the support of the state government, we have our own building, which has given a new identity and new direction to our work. Presently 30-40 women have joined our group and are making jute bags, toys and other products. With a monthly income of around Rs 2.5 lakh, this group is empowering women financially.
– Maya, Entrepreneur
Sometimes the financial condition of our house was very weak. Facilities like housing and gas cylinder were provided through government schemes. After joining Rajivika, she became plaster co-ordinator and today she is running the utensil bank in the village. Got loan thrice from Self Help Group, which made me self-reliant. Now I am showing the way to other women to become financially empowered by connecting them with groups.
– Radha Devi, Utensil Bank Operator
