Neemrana fire: Fire broke out from perfume bottles

Neemrana (Kotputli-Behror).

A heart-wrenching accident took place in an illegal scrap warehouse in Neemrana on Friday evening. A massive fire broke out due to a beedi spark falling into the flammable chemical released from perfume bottles, in which 4 people including two innocent children died. All the deceased were residents of Jharkhand. The chemical released by the workers while breaking the perfume bottles found in the junk caught fire due to the burning match thrown by the pickup driver. Within no time, there were five explosions one after the other in the chemical drums kept in the warehouse, the flames of which were visible up to a kilometer away.
The fire was so fierce that the iron pillars of the tin shed melted and fell on the children and women hiding in the back part of the warehouse. They could not find a way out due to the burning plastic waste and debris below. A woman is seriously burnt in the accident, while two laborers are still reported missing. Police have kept the dead bodies in the mortuary of Behror District Hospital, for whose identification DNA test will be conducted.
