New Delhi, May 17 (). Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi on Sunday said partnership with the Netherlands in clean energy will help India become a global green hydrogen hub.
He wrote in a post on social media platform ‘X’ that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Netherlands will give impetus to India-Netherlands partnership. Additionally, cooperation in renewable energy, green hydrogen and energy transition will strengthen clean energy innovation, increase investment, create new economic opportunities and help India emerge as a global green hydrogen hub. This partnership further strengthens India’s commitment towards sustainable development, energy security and a clean future.
Along with this, the Union Minister has also told about the agreements signed between India and Netherlands during the PM’s visit.
In the poster shared by the Union Minister, it was said that India and Netherlands have decided to form a Renewable Energy Joint Working Group. This will help in securing technology, expertise and finance for the expansion of clean energy in India. This will create more opportunities for Indian industry, researchers and employees in green energy.
The second agreement is to prepare a roadmap on green hydrogen. This will create a big market for the export of Indian green hydrogen to Europe. Also, investment and technology will come for storage and port infrastructure. Also, India’s position as a global green hydrogen hub will be strengthened.
The third agreement is to be signed between NITI Aayog and Netherlands on Energy Sector and Energy Transition Projects. This will strengthen the partnership between the two countries and will boost energy security.
India has set a target of developing 500 GW green energy capacity by 2030. At present the green energy capacity of the country is more than 250 GW.
