Haridwar, 4 October (). On the instructions of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Public Works Department (PDBD) Secretary Pankaj Pandey reached Haridwar on Saturday to review the progress of the pit -free campaign of roads being run across the state.
PDBDi Secretary Pankaj Pandey said during a media interaction that several roads in Haridwar, Luxor and Roorkee areas were inspected on the spot and closely reviewed the ongoing works. During this time, the Secretary gave clear instructions to the officers that by October 31, all the roads of the state should be pit -free.
Secretary Pankaj Pandey said that roads are directly connected to the convenience and security of the common man, so no negligence will be tolerated in road construction and repair works. He also talked to the local people and heard their problems and assured that it would be resolved in a time bound manner.
During the inspection, the secretary emphasized on immediate completion of incomplete works and instructed the officials to repair the roads on priority basis. He especially mentioned the areas where the roads have been damaged after laying the pipeline under the Water Life Mission. Pandey said that repair work in these areas will be completed soon so that people can get relief from the difficulties in traffic.
The secretary clarified that the state government aims to provide easy and safe traffic facilities to people in every region of Uttarakhand. For this, it is mandatory to complete all the work of the pit free road campaign within the stipulated time frame. He asked the officials to complete the repair work at a transparent and fast pace without compromising the quality of work.
