The wait of the people of Delhi-NCR is finally over. The international airport being built in Jewar, Noida is ready for inauguration. The country’s most modern airport will be dedicated to the public on October 30. The pictures that have surfaced inside the airport before the inauguration are as beautiful as they are spectacular. Looking at the pictures, it is clear why this airport is being called the largest airport in Asia and the fourth largest airport in the world. Flights will start from here about 45 days after the inauguration. This airport, about 75 km away from Delhi, will be the third airport of NCR after Indira Gandhi International Airport, which will significantly reduce the burden on Delhi.
About ₹29,650 crore has been spent in building Jewar Airport. This airport is spread over an area of 5,845 hectares. It is so big that it can accommodate 178 aircraft at a time. Six runways are being built here, which will make it Asia’s largest airport. The runway of the airport is 2,900 meters long and about 60 meters wide. The design of the airport is completely eco-friendly and future-proof, incorporating technologies like solar energy and rainwater harvesting.
Traffic jam will reduce in Delhi-NCR
This airport will reduce the increasing pressure on Indira Gandhi International Airport. Passengers of Delhi and surrounding areas will no longer have to travel long distances. This airport will make air travel very easy for the people of cities like Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Agra, Aligarh and Moradabad.
The biggest strength of Jewar Airport is its excellent road and rail connectivity. It is being connected to Ganga Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. In future, fast rail, metro line and pod taxi services will also be available, due to which it will take only 45 minutes to reach Noida International Airport in Jewar from Delhi.
Direct flights from Jewar airport to 10 big cities
In the first phase, flights will be started from Jewar Airport to 10 cities. These will include Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Ahmedabad. This network will grow at the international level in the coming years. Plans are already underway to start flights to cities like Singapore, Dubai, Doha and London.
