New Delhi, July 20 (). Sonam Wangchuk, who is fasting with the Cockroach Janata Party, has been admitted to the hospital by the police. On one hand, the protesters are going to march on July 20, while on the other hand, Delhi Police has warned that this is not allowed. Now Sonam Wangchuk’s wife said that if the political party leaders meet Sonam Wangchuk and assure her to raise the issue of education in the House, then she will break the fast tomorrow.
Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Gitanjali J. Angmo has told the forum that if MPs and leaders of various political parties meet Sonam Wangchuk at Safdarjung Hospital on Monday and assure that they will raise the issue of accountability and education reforms prominently in the monsoon session of Parliament, only then will Wangchuk end his fast.
Speaking to the media at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, Gitanjali Angmo said, “Sonam will end her fast tomorrow only when leaders of political parties meet her at the hospital and give her an assurance that they will raise the issue of accountability in education during the Parliament session.”
He said, “We want this march to be very successful, because people from all over the country are coming to participate in it. Many political leaders are also coming. Sonam says that she will end her fast only if the MPs and other leaders meet her at Safdarjung Hospital on Monday and assure her that they will make accountability in education and education reforms the main agenda in this session of Parliament.”
Gitanjali Angmo said that her aim is to ensure accountability in the education system and to raise the issue of education reform prominently at the national level.
Let us tell you that the Cockroach Janata Party, which has been protesting at Jantar Mantar in the capital Delhi since June 20, has said that the Delhi Police does not have permission from the CJP regarding the proposed Parliament march on July 20.
New Delhi DCP Sachin Sharma said that no permission has been given for the alleged march of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) to Parliament on July 20. He further said that Section 163 of the BNS is in force and protests can be held only with prior permission at the designated site of Jantar Mantar.
He has clarified that no application by CJP seeking permission to take out the march has been received by Delhi Police nor has any permission been given.
